For good and sufficient reason, Julie Sutherland remained celibate until age 25. At that point she decided to discover "what all the fuss was about". A Beautiful Friendship tells Julie's story from the time she makes her decision until she accomplishes her objective.

We decided early on to go against the conventional wisdom in movies... i.e:

- No conflict
- No violence
- Zero gratuitous sex
- "Pissed" and "damned" are as close as we come to profanity

The entire movie builds to the bedroom scene and in it, the young lady, in my opinion, hits a home run. I believe this scene is one of the most surprising, kooky and interesting bedroom encounters ever shot.
